As Montana Knife Company’s Chief Operations Officer, Andrew Oliver oversees production and business development through a driven, analytical, customer-obsessed lens. He spearheads MKC’s dynamic growth, collaborating closely with its CEO and CMO to drive expansion and success.
After a 13-year military career, which included combat tours in Afghanistan, several commands at Fort Hood, special assignments, and an MBA from WSU, Andrew decided to transition to corporate America. Becoming one of Amazon’s fastest-promoting operators, Andrew used his expertise to optimize operations at Amazon facilities all over the country, even getting two new massive fulfillment centers up and running.
Andrew has been a fan and customer of Montana Knife Company for years, drawn to its outstanding quality, local character, and customer service. As a fellow Montanan and outdoor enthusiast, he eventually struck up a friendship with CEO Josh Smith.
When Josh asked Andrew to come on board and help scale production, he jumped at the opportunity. Andrew’s leadership and expertise have played a critical role in growing MKC’s revenue, scaling up their production without sacrificing quality, and expanding their team from six to 40 — all in under two short years.
A fifth-generation Montanan, Andrew grew up in Billings, where he played football and took advantage of the state’s breathtaking landscapes. He now lives in Frenchtown, where he enjoys sharing activities like hunting, fishing, and jiu-jitsu with his wife and three kids.
