The MKC Traditions Knives showcase handles crafted from desert ironwood, a material celebrated for its hard, closed grain that repels oil, blood, and water. This ensures the handle stays clean, stable, and free from warping or cracking. We’ve outfitted the MKC Elk Knife with these exceptional handles, and paired them with a custom sheath from Francesca at Teton Leather.

Every piece of desert ironwood is unique, just like a fingerprint, offering a variety of grain patterns from burly to straight.     Traditions Elk Knife

    This is the most beautiful knife I’ve purchased from MKC. The finish looks amazing and the iron wood scales are a work of art. Very excited about this blade. This was my first traditions but after this one I can say it probably won’t be my last. As always dangerously sharp. Can’t wait to show this one off at deer camp this fall. Should make quick work of any game I harvest this fall. Thanks again MKC another one knocked out of the park.
