As a Lincoln, Montana native, our founder and Master Bladesmith Josh Smith grew up hunting and fishing in this remarkable region. The Stonewall Skinner fittingly takes its name from one of the area’s standout landmarks the Stonewall Mountain, bordering the Scapegoat Wilderness to the north.

Stonewashed MagnaCut Stainless Steel Blade

As a cryogenically heat-treated stainless steel, MAGNACUT provides the perfect blend of toughness, edge retention, and corrosion resistance. Unlike other stainless steel blades, MAGNACUT can be easily resharpened — even by novice knife owners. More wear-resistant than other stainless steels, and more corrosion-resistant than carbon steel, MAGNACUT is in a class of its own.

Enlarged Belly

The Stonewall’s shape is all about balance without sacrifice. It features a shallower curve than some pro skinners like the Beartooth, but this is no Tanto blade.

The large belly allows for long sweeping strokes with less punctured hides while the tip is easily accessible for non-skinning jobs.
Sharp and Stout

The Stonewall is 0.140” thick at the spine, but only 0.0.15” thick at the edge — making it stout enough to withstand any abuse and sharp enough to cut like a laser. The 4.625” blade provides enough surface area for effortless skinning and enough steel to baton through wood.

Composite Handle

The composite handle scales are equally as tough as the blade. Composite is famous for being strong, durable, and stable — unmatched by any natural handle material. It won’t absorb blood and provides superior grip… even when wet and bloody.

Three hollows are cut into the handle to decrease weight and allow for maximum epoxy bonding before screws and high-strength Loctite secure the perfect fit.

EXCLUSIVE MKC OPEN CARRY SHEATH 2.0

Each Magnacut Stonewall comes with a USA Made, custom MKC Kydex sheath.

The sheath features a built-in retention screw to customize blade tension and allow for handle-down carrying. The Magnacut Stonewall sheath comes with a Kydex clip that allows you to carry your knife on a pack or belt loop, either horizontally or vertically.

    Might just be the best overall........

    The very first time I held a Stonewall Skinner is when my son brought is blaze orange model over for me to check out. The first time I picked the Stonewall Skinner it felt different and special, which is uniquely hard to describe!

    The Stonewall Skinner fits perfectly into its niche between two of my favorite MKC blades, its big brother the MKC Super Cub and its little brother the MKC Whitetail and that's very fine place to be in my MKC collection.

    Once again here is a superb knife offering from the MKC crew that could easily become my favorite. If I were only limited to one hunting/skinning knife the MKC Stonewall Skinner would get my vote! In such a classic way the MKC Stonewall Skinner has everything you need and nothing you don't!

    Great knife; but EXPENSIVE

    I ordered the Stonewall Skinner, the Stone Goat & the Speed Goat; all in Magnacut. I returned the Speed Goat. It has a little too much pointy tip for my use. I ordered the Ultra versions because I wanted handle scales. They really didn't need to be Carbon fiber. I find 550 cord wrapped knives become gross after using the to process game. The GOOD: great materials. Great fit and finish. I wish they would lower the cost by skipping the mirror polish; and using simple Micarta or G10 instead of CF. The NOT so great: 1) MKC doesn't run their Magnacut hard enough to get the full benefits of the steel. At 60-61 it's about like S30V with a little added toughness. 2) The price is way too high. Argali has very similar knives for about $100 less than MKC. Hogue offers the Extrak & Extrak XL which are also cheaper. Hogue also runs their Magnacut 1-2 points harder on the Rockwell scale. Last, the TERRIBLE: the clip on the sheaths is stupid. It's made to attach to your backpack stap. And, it doesn't work well, horizontally, on your belt. I dont know anyone who wears their backpack while processing their game. Unfortunately the hole pattern on the MKC kydex is not symmetrical so an aftermarket dangler won't work. Luckily I ordered some 5-6oz, 2.5" wide leather. I cut about 14.5" and used a leather punch to make 4.5mm holes. I folded the leather over to make a drop sheath using the MKC index sheath (see pics). I'll definitely keep the Speed Goat and the Stonewall Skinners in my…
