The Castle Rock is a purpose-built, pocket-sized fixed blade knife designed from the ground up for everyday carry. This isn’t a hunting knife we shrunk down and stuffed into a pocket. The smallest footprint we could engineer without sacrificing secure retention.

We stripped the Castle Rock’s Kydex sheath down to the absolute minimum weight, so compact that our deep carry clip barely fits on it. That’s by design. A built-in retention screw lets you dial in the perfect blade tension, and the clip allows for deep-pocket carry or inside-the-waistband mounting.

    My new favorite EDC

    Well, this has now taken place as my new favorite EDC.

    I have a Mini Speedgoat, but wanted something a little more robust, so I purchased the Rocker, which is a brilliant blade, and is my usual work knife. When this came out, it was a happy medium. The deep belly with the full flat grind makes this little knife razor sharp, while still having incredible functionality. The handle itself is small but not so much where it feels small in the hand. The kydex sheath is definitely on the lower profile side of things, and disappears in my pocket. I swapped the deep carry clip for an Ulticlip just because I feel like it keeps everything in place a little better. 10/10 my favorite little knife in my collection.

    Legitimate EDC fixed blade even in CA

    I was hoping MKC would rerelease the Badrock, but they did even better with a drop point in the Castle Rock. A lot of MKC knives are too large to carry on a daily basis, especially in fixed blade unfriendly states like CA. But this is a legitimate EDC knife that you can easily have on you at all times.

    Its size is deceiving. I have medium sized hands and can comfortably have a four finger purchase on the knife. It has a very thin profile, but the blade is thick enough where you’re not second guessing if it will hold up to daily tasks. MKC KNIVES ARE EXTREMELY SHARP FROM THE FACTORY! I poked my finger with very little pressure while not paying attention during sheathing and was bleeding for 10-15 minutes.

    The “R&D” laser etching on the blade signifying first batch is a nice exclusive touch. Ironically, missing out on the mini Wargoat rerelease actually worked out for me as the Castle Rock is much more practical for my needs.

    But I still want a mini Wargoat…

    Such a slicy little blade. This sucker is so thin it disapears in your pocket but the second its deployed uses like a much bigger knife. My favorite blade so far from MKC
